Final Project

For my final project I decided to make a calendar featuring my twin sons. This is something I have been wanting to for a couple of years. Every week since they were born my wife and I have updated their website (COLEANDPARKER.COM) with pictures and text. So I have a lot of historical pictures to work with. The pictures from the first couple of years are low-resolution (640x480), but now I am up to 5 or 6 Meg pictures.
So I started by making a first pass of the 21 thousand picture files I had accumulated in the last 6 years and separating them by the month in which they were taken. As I seleted these pictures I resized them to 300 dpi for printing and saved them in TIFF format (they were JPEGs). This gave me about 1400 candidate pictures to use in my calendar. Now I had a problem, the calendar pictures would be big at least 8x10 and many of my pictures were too low resolution for that large a format, but I really wanted pictures from their early years. The answer was to make a collage for each month.
Now I could start with a blank 8x10 picture in photoshop and start selecting pictures from the month that I was working on and fitting them on to the final picture. The early pictures were only 1.6 x 2 inches.

All of these pictures are from Parker and Cole's website
